Here is how CTEC is showing up in the community.

Our Story

Honoring the legacy of Chuck Lee, Krina has formed the Because Foundation to further his endeavors in local education. Salem-Keizer Public Schools have seen an increase in overcrowding, a desire for innovative technology, and a need for career-oriented learning opportunities. The Because Foundation is here to supply those needs. Will you join us?

Our Why

  • ZBecause it needs to be done.
  • ZBecause we're the right people to do it.
  • ZBecause it needs to be done now.

Make an Impact

There’s a lot at stake here.

Here is how you can help in your local community

Overcrowding

Class sizes are out of control. Educators are beyond max capacity and are not equipped to provide consistent direction and encouragement to students on an individual basis anymore. This is why CTEC is an incredible option. Students are able to go to hands-on classes where the teachers know their name.

Lack of Innovation

With a boon in technological advancements, trauma-informed methods, and economic changes, school districts could be providing additional instruction and resources to their teachers and staff. Instead, things have remained stagnant. CTEC provides an opportunity for local students to be part of a new movement in education and life skills.

The Achievement Gap

Teaching to the test is often a higher priority than ensuring each student truly comprehends and commits the curriculum to long-term memory. Why? Metrics. Well, even though the data is nice, our workforce is less prepared than ever before when they graduate high school. CTEC provides career-centric curriculum to ensure students leave on the right foot.

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed citizens can change the world: indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.”
